Research Interest:

Murni is a new researcher in the field of Human Computer Interaction (HCI). She inclines to learn HCI because she worked with users and computers interfaces in her first job.  She has formal exposure to HCI research during her MPhil and PhD studies; specifically exploring and learning various interaction design evaluation methods. She has designed and conducted several HCI experiment for evaluating website interfaces, input devices, acoustic input controls and mobile phone. She dealt with various user groups from young to older users. In the experiment, she has conducted questionnaires, interview, think-aloud methods and focus group. She performed both quantitative (e.g. statistical analysis) and qualitative (e.g. content analysis) data analysis.

She is particularly interested to research the status of HCI in Malaysia; interaction design evaluation methods, usability and accessibility of website user interfaces; usability and accessibility of Information and technology tools/software for elderly and people with special needs. While enriching her knowledge in HCI, she is interested to research in Information Systems; the usage of communication and interaction tools (e.g. email in higher academic institutions); and women and advanced information technology.

She is also exploring into the research area: Spectrum Research, E-Government, Virtual Reality, Software Engineering and Development and Knowledge-Grid. Her personal interest is doctoral education; she wishes to enhance doctoral school by initiating a more structured doctoral school in the Department of Information Systems at the Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology.
